22 CONGRESSO EUROPEO DI PSICHIATRIA.
EUROPEAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION FOCUSING ON BODY AND MIND
The European Psychiatric Association (EPA) was founded in 1983. With active members in as many as 75 countries and 33 National Psychiatric Associations who joined as members in 2012, EPA is the main association representing psychiatry in Europe. Its mission is to improve psychiatry and mental health care in Europe. EPA members include leading experts in numerous fields. EPA’s activities address the interests of psychiatrists in academia, research and practice throughout all stages of career development.
The 22nd European Congress of Psychiatry (EPA 2014 will be a major meeting of international psychiatrists dedicated to promoting European psychiatry and to improving mental health around the globe. On behalf of the European Psychiatric Association (EPA), it is our great pleasure to invite you to join us at this occasion.
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2013, EPA recognises the importance of strong historical links to European psychiatry and therefore Munich, with its connection to over one hundred years of psychiatry, is an excellent choice to welcome us in 2014.
Guided by the motto European Psychiatry Focusing on Body and Mind, we are preparing a top-notch scientific programme that will review the most important aspects of diagnosis and treatment in psychiatry and examine the latest achievements in the field. As such, it is a great honour to welcome Professors Antonio Damasio, Andreas Papassotiropoulos and Mario Maj to present the plenary lectures at EPA 2014.
Through a variety of session types, including Plenary Lectures, EPA Academia Educational courses and a dedicated European Early Career Psychiatrists Programme, EPA 2014 will meet the needs of all participants, from trainees in psychiatry to the most esteemed professors. We will also be introducing a new session type.
